When parent/child relationships have fractured deeply, through estrangement, resistance, or alienation, more than mediation or weekly therapy may be needed. Our Intensive Reunification Treatment offers an immersive, clinically driven program designed to help repair connection and restore healthier family functioning.
What It Is
Our Intensive Reunification Treatment is a unique, clinically-driven program designed to help families facing severe parent–child(ren) contact problems, often associated with resist/refuse dynamics, estrangement, or alienation. The program is led by Dr. Wendy Coughlin, LMHC, and Jamie Coughlin, BCN, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
This isn’t just education or bonding, it’s a full clinical intervention working directly with the family system.
What You Get
- 4-Day Residential Program: The resisted parent and child(ren) participate in a structured, immersive therapeutic experience tailored to their needs.
- Individualized Approach: The treatment plan is customized to meet the needs of each family system; no two families receive the exact same program.
- Clinical Interventions: Treatment includes psychoeducation, brainspotting, biofeedback, individual and joint therapeutic sessions, and guided parent-child(ren) activities.
- Whole-Family Focus: The favored parent is included as clinically appropriate to support long-term success.
- Post-Treatment Monitoring: The team monitors family progress for 30 days following the intensive.
- Optional Aftercare Program: For families seeking additional support, a structured aftercare package is available, including clinical consultation and monitoring of co-parent communication.
Cost & Commitment
Our Intensive Reunification Treatment is not a forensic or evaluative service. It is a clinical intervention focused solely on helping families heal and move forward. The expense of this service is contingent on many factors; a $20,000 retainer is standard for a 4-day residential intensive.
A Message from Dr. Coughlin:
“When the relationship has been deeply wounded, only a focused, immersive clinical intervention can begin to rebuild trust and repair connection.”
